Why Ideas Become Comatose And How To Fight Back

by Jeff Sarris

Ideas

We’ve all been there. You get an idea, a great idea. You are super inspired and think how amazing it is, how it’s so cool and everyone’s gonna love it. You spend a couple days running everything through your mind, jotting down notes, having all the pieces fit together just perfectly and you think to yourself, “This is it. Everything is perfect.”

Then it all stops.

Here and there you think back to those initial ideas. There was so much excitement, but now nothing. You may have even written the details down and you go back and add a little bit here and there, but where’s the actual end game for the idea? What happened that stopped you in your tracks and kept your idea as only that, an idea?

Was it really not as good as you had thought?

Was it not thought out well enough?

Wrong. Your ideas are excellent. You have come up with some truly groundbreaking or inspiring concepts that can and will accomplish whatever it is that you intend for them. The ideas are not the problem. The problem lies with your fear.

Fear of the unknown. Fear of success. Fear of what others will think. Fear of imperfection.

Whatever they are, these fears are putting your otherwise excellent ideas into a comatose state and leaving you with an unfulfilled feeling.

Time To Fight Back

Whether you know it or not a fear is holding you back and the only way to overcome that fear is by putting up a fight. You must make the decision that you will not be afraid anymore and stand up to your fear with action. When you’re struggling with this, just remember the following Idea Action statement:

YOUR IDEAS MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IF YOU DON’T TAKE ACTION.

So go out and do something today. Take that idea of yours and finally begin putting it into action. Set a deadline of 3 days from now (use Google Calendar or Gmail Tasks if you need a reminder) and choose a medium to large task that your fears have stopped you from accomplishing and push through it. Once you do your idea will be on the road to a speedy recovery.

Remember two things. Any attempt ending in failure is better than no attempt at all. And never regret your past because you are in complete control of your future.
